Tony Jackson, Jr. was born and raised in Lebanon, MO. Jackson began his racing career at age 16 on local asphalt tracks behind the wheel of a street stock. He earned his way to victory lane multiple times his first year along with winning rookie-of-the-year.
It didn't take long for Tony's parents to realize he needed to move into a late model stock. In just two years racing that class, Tony accumulated numerous wins, rookie-of-the-year, and a track championship.
Jackson ended his local asphalt career in 2002 in a late model because the tracks transitioned to dirt. Tony dominated the class with 9 wins, 18 top 5's, runner-up track champion, and rookie-of-the-year.
2003 brought Tony to a dirt late model and traveling to I-70 Speedway in Odessa, MO once a month for asphalt late model racing.
In 2004, Tony made long hauls every other week to Texas to race in the ROMCO series all while racing a dirt late model.
Jackson won a sportsman championship in 2005 while picking up his first modified heat and A-feature win in his first modified race after battling long-time friend Rex Merritt.
2006 and 2007 brought Tony modified championships at Midway Speedway and I-44 Speedway along with numerous victories. Jackson also picked-up his first dirt late model win at I-44 Speedway in a GRT by Frye during the 2007 racing season.
Locals didn't see much of Tony during 2008 as he began to travel more with his modified and late model. He raced the DLRA late model touring series. Tony felt like different track experience would enhance his racing career over track championships.
In 2009, Jackson raced the O'Reilly MARS dirt late model series. He traveled to 7 different states where he competed in over 20 races. Tony finished the season fifth in points and runner-up rookie-of-the-year.
Jackson has numerous wins on asphalt and dirt. No matter what class or the surface, Tony has proven he is a phenomenal force.
Tony is exceptionally grateful for the opportunity to make his debut in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. It has been his childhood dream to race professionally. Tony has always aspired to race with his hero Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Hopefully his dream will become reality one day soon. |
