Jason White Looks to Make up Ground

Jason White and the SS Green Light Racing team took a big hit in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series point standings after electrical gremlins and two blown tires relegated the Virginia native to a 23rd place finish last week at the Iowa Speedway.

The disheartening finish dropped White from the top-ten in the driver’s point standings for the first time this season as the trucks are nearing the halfway point of the twenty-five-race season.

White knows the importance of a good finish this week at the Gateway International Raceway on Friday evening as the trucks head to the track just east of the famed St Louis Arch for the Camping World 200.

“We need to avoid the stupid stuff this week and get a good finish,” White said. “The point standings are so close and everyone is bunched-up between seventh and eleventh place. I think there are less than fifty points separating those five trucks.”

“We had a real competitive truck last week and I’m sure Doug Howe and the GunBroker.com guys will have a solid truck again this week,” he added. “We need a little luck and we can get right back into the thick of things here.”

White has competed four times at Gateway International Raceway in the NCWTS and though he has had competitive trucks, he has only one top-20 finish, which was last year at the mile and a quarter track in Madison, IL.

The Camping World 200 will be White’s 90th career start in the NCWTS.

The Forty-four trucks are on the entry list for the Camping World 200, which should make for a very exciting qualifying session and a competitive race.

It will be a busy weekend at Gateway as this is the first ever double-header weekend at the track with the Nationwide Series Missouri-Illinois Dodge Dealers 250 following the trucks on Saturday night

The NCWTS Camping World 200 is a one-day show on July 16th with first practice from 11:00 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. and happy hour from 12:45 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with qualifying at 5:30pm. The race will be shown live on SPEED TV at 8:00 p.m. Central and will also be broadcast live on MRN Radio and Sirius Satellite radio.
