About: Ken Smith
Ken Smith began his racing endeavors back in 2001. What started as hobby for Smith soon turned into a business marketing platform for his core business ASILIMITED (www.ASILimited.com). Ken had taken some racing courses for fun and Chris Shultz was his instructor. The two eventually formed SS Racing (Smith as Owner and Shultz as the Driver). The team began racing in the now defunct ASA Touring Series, still as a hobby with just one race car.

By nature, Ken Smith couldn't help turning his venture into racing from hobby into productive business opportunity. The team has since grown, changed directions and drivers and most of all has become a major part of ASILIMITED's Customer/Vendor Relationship Marketing. Shultz agreed with the direction and left the SS Racing team to join the ASI team, where he now works as the Safety Director and HR Manager. Shultz still competes and wins on a regular basis in Shifter kart racing and SS Racing found their winning ways both on and off the track.

Three time ASA Champion and legendary short-track racer, Butch Miller joined the team in 2001 and brought SS Racing immediately to the front of the pack and into Victory Lane. SS Racing changed direction in 2004 when they became a driver development team for Hendrick Motorsports. The team focused on teaching young drivers skills both on and off the track. SS Racing worked with a handful of drivers including Hendrick Motorsports development driver Chase Austin and Jarit Johnson, younger brother to 2-time Sprint Cup Champion Jimmie Johnson.

Last year SS Racing found another wining match in up-and-coming driver Sean Murphy. Murphy won the Pat Burdow Memorial Rookie of the Year Title along with several fast time qualifiers and set new track records. Murphy opened up the 2008 season with a win at the annual Speedfest Event in Lakeland, Fl. Along with wins at Iowa Speedway and Indianapolis Raceway Park. Butch Miller has moved into a management, crew chief and coaching role for the team.

At the start of the 2008 season SS Racing partnered with Green Light Racing and veteran racer/owner Bobby Dotter, to form the joint venture SS-Green Light Racing. The professional organization competes in the ASA Late Model Series, UMP Dirt Late Models and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. The race team is also a full service and full time staffed marketing and public relations company that provides unique and profitable returning marketing programs.
